Does Tech Deck Live Work?
As anticipated, this morning I started to do the math in your pocket to our site. Regularly dealt with both new recruits of the ongoing projects, I had an idea, a forecast, a feeling on the progress of the year just ended, well, I was wrong to the great O_O
During 2010 the site of Storm Heaven has been updated 18 times, with 15 chapters, 3 for various communications. The new projects were initiated 9, the agreements 8 (the os are excluded).
I have less updates, barely a month, and instead - hurray! - We managed, despite periods of silence, putting out chapters on average every 24 days.
I was 100% sure that the project budget was absolutely positive, ie that the completed projects numerically outstripped those new ... Maybe you will not you noticed, but for us it was a year a bit 'banner dell'austerity. There are no taxes to start new projects if we did not have the certainty to conclude them rapidly, and we dug up from graves several titles not seen for some time. Managed more or less well.
In fact, it is Christmas was the last update to send us to hell XD numerically Ben 5 new projects at once! One of the new projects (one of the projects started during the year) behind the scenes is concluded (mwhaha not say which one), so let's say 8:08, parity.
The part that surprised me more, however, concerns the staff.
During 2010 we received 14 e-mail of new editors / translators, of whom less than 13 are still with us!
The data that I am missing is how many of us have abandoned old ^_^'''' take note of everything, but not the dates, so I'm not just a tell-_-Gambling 10-11, but could be more. The difference however is resolved in our favor, because surely at least half of these people "disappeared officially declared" missing in 2010 were in fact long ago, whereas the 13 new signings are all now more or less active. And 'thanks to them that we were able to start many projects buried and forgotten, so thank you all very much ^___^
very latest light ... despite all this poo data, 2010 should go down in history as the 'Year License. Never before this time the publishers have helped us to "conclude" projects. We hope that they continue to do so in 2011, but we also hope that the relationship between publishers and groups of scanlations can change for the better. Those who follow us know, we do not do irony when we declare enthusiastic about this or that license. It 'just that readers can shake hands hard copies of the manga I love. Since, however, that we scanlators criminals contribute to the spread of the securities - and thus the success of publications - would be very, very nice if the publishers to tell us a little bit before their licenses. It 's frustrating just to bump to bring up a difficult project, being able to complete it in a few weeks, and then read the proclamation that his rights were acquired by the XX and we will see on sale from next month. The publications do not follow the licensing wheel at a time when the publishers were responsible for translating and editing their product (certainly more than a month), we could stop our project and publicize its future exit with dignity.
Publishers, get smart!
to everybody, good 2011 ^ __ ^
